The rules and regulations of casino Poker rooms vary of course, not just from state to state, but virtually from one venue to another. However, there are some general guidelines, and if you have never been to one, it is vital that you know them.

First of all, do not try to cheat. It does not matter if you are playing in a mega resort in Las Vegas or in small casino in your hometown. Do not try it.

That may be quite difficult to do with Poker but some still attempt it. If you try to steal the pot or influence the outcome by conniving with another player, rest assured the camera will catch you and you will be thrown out.

In Las Vegas or Atlantic City, trying to cheat in a Poker room can result in a permanent ban or even criminal charges. If you are playing in a home game and the other players see what you did, you could be in even worse trouble.

Usually casino Poker rooms allow for a lot of tough or trash talking, but you can never engage in fisticuffs. It usually does not matter who provokes the fight, or who throws out the first punch; getting involved in a fight will end your evening quickly.

If you have a problem with another player, you should inform the manager. If he tells you to just ignore the way he is talking, then consider moving to another table.

Other Poker room etiquette includes not throwing the cards when you lose, or getting in the face of a dealer. Oftentimes players who lose take out their frustration on the dealer. That will either get you a sharp rebuke or get thrown out altogether.

Another Poker room no-no is that of using the cell phone. Players are there to play the game, and if you are always chatting with someone, you will distract them and also might end up costing yourself the game. You can talk on the phone after the game, not during.

Keep in mind that as you play Poker, you are not simply trying to win money, but also dealing with a lot of people too. They are trying to win just like you, but do not take it out on the others. Blowing your top will only get you into trouble.

Instead you should try to focus on your game, and you will win money and have fun in the process.
